The classic Black/Red Jordan 1 from 1985 is falsely mythologized as the sneaker that cost Michael Jordan a $5,000 fine each time the rookie wore the two-tone colourway during NBA games. The Jordan 1 Mid "Banned (GS)" features a familiar colour scheme that calls to mind that model. This pair also features a leather top with a striking black and red finish, similar to its predecessor. With the exception of an additional splash of red on the condensed eyestay, colour blocking is largely identical to the original. The woven tongue tag's Nike Air branding has been replaced with a red Jumpman emblem.
